“Gatsby in Connecticut develops in poignant detail the story of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald’s wild summer of 1920.”
The New Yorker

Gatsby in Connecticut: The Untold Story presents compelling evidence that Westport, Connecticut — not Long Island — was the true inspiration for The Great Gatsby. The film follows F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald’s honeymoon summer of 1920, living next door to a 175-acre estate owned by a mysterious millionaire. Featuring Sam Waterston and narrated by Keir Dullea, the documentary draws on interviews with over a dozen Fitzgerald scholars, Charles Scribner III, and Scott and Zelda’s granddaughter.

“This film does an excellent job of capturing an important aspect of Westport’s literary history and it helps to establish the town’s rightful place in Fitzgerald’s legacy.”

Sam Waterston, Actor (played Nick Carraway in the '74 Gatsby)
